Act now to protect your Google profile

Your business Google profile forms an important part of your online footprint. I’d encourage you to actively manage it but Google recently announced…

“In the past few months, you may have seen some changes in the look of Google+ pages that have been associated with Google My Business (GMB) accounts. These changes, including how we treat business pages without owners, are part of Google’s ongoing effort to simplify people’s experience with our tools. We are constantly working to provide only valuable and rich content to our users. On July 28th 2015, Google will begin shutting down those GMB–associated Google+ pages that have not been associated with user accounts and are also not verified.”

I recommend you verify your profile if you haven’t already done so.

How do I find my Google profile?

Search for your “companyname + postcode”, chances are that in the listing you’l see a link with a red map pin and just above it a link to “Google+ page”. If the page is verified you’ll see a little grey shield next to the round profile image. If it’s not verified I recommend you fix that by going to this support page…
